Who We Are

Founded in 2015, Cocobagh is an artisan-training initiative supported by Eco Jute. We create paid time to learn for women in rural West Bengal, Odisha and Kolkata’s city fringes, building skills in stitching and printing, not a cheaper workforce.

Eco Jute makes the bags; Cocobagh grows the people behind them, turning each order into long-term opportunity.

Intentional design

Everything we do starts with why

Made with care

We believe in building better

A team with a goal

Real people making great products

Growing people, not just products

Working through village classrooms and city hubs, we start with women who have had least access to secure work. In small, supportive groups, learners build technical skills, literacy, confidence and peer networks. Sessions are led by local trainers, timed around family and seasonal work, so progress is realistic, safe and rooted in everyday life.

Pathways into dignified work

Training hours are always paid and never used to fulfil commercial orders. As skills grow, we support each learner to choose a next step that fits her life: home-based work, joining a Cocobagh production cluster, or, if she chooses, applying for roles with partners like Eco Jute. The focus is steady, self-directed independence.

Why partner with Cocobagh and Eco Jute

For brands, Cocobagh and Eco Jute offer more than a responsible bag supplier: we offer a verifiable story of women’s skills, safety and income built over time. Every partnership helps expand cohorts, upgrade equipment and grow rural and urban hubs. Together, we design collections and narratives that align your brand with credible, long-term social impact.
