The community behind every bag

Our people are women who have had the fewest chances to learn or earn, local trainers who understand both craft and community, and partners like Eco Jute who open up dignified routes into work.

Together, they turn training hours into real, long-term change.

Meet Raschida

"Before Cocobagh, I had never worked outside my home. Now I have confidence, friends, and income.”

Shanjura lost her husband at a young age and was raising two small children with no formal skills, taking on cleaning work to survive.

After three years training and working through Cocobagh, she now stitches independently, earns a regular income, and can send both children to school while working during their school day.

Meet Sanjura

“Learning these skills has changed my life. I can work while my children are at school and show them that their mother is strong.”

Rupa joined Cocobagh while navigating a difficult domestic situation and caring for three children.

Through training and steady work at the production unit in Baduria, she has built skills and stability.

Today she leads a new cohort of trainees, passing on what she has learned and helping other women take their first steps into paid work

Meet Sukumar

“I’m proud to be training others now. When one of us grows, we all grow.”

Sukumar is Cocobagh’s training manager, a skilled trainer from Kolkata who joined us through word of mouth.

With a background in stitching and production training, he designs our cohort programmes and supports local trainers across rural areas in East India, making sure every session is practical, safe and rooted in real industry standards.
